Is transparency kept?
Yes, as simple on/off transparency: pixels that are more than half transparent become fully transparent.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The conversion happens in your browser, so your images never leave your device.
Do animations stay animated?
Yes, with “Keep the animation” (on by default) every frame and its timing is converted to an animated GIF, in browsers that can read animations frame by frame (Chrome, Edge and other Chromium browsers). Elsewhere, or with the option off, the first frame is converted.
Will colours change?
GIF can store at most 256 colours. Images with fewer colours stay exact; photos are reduced to the 256 best-matching colours.
